Mlb Tickets – Mvp for Cy Young?
Could anything make MLB Tickets more popular? Perhaps if the American League Most Valuable Player were traded for the National League Cy Young Award Winner in the previous offseason, baseball’s popularity could grow even more. At the end of this season, that may well be the case.
Reds pitcher Edinson Volquez and Rangers slugger Josh Hamilton were involved in an offseason deal that sent each of them to their current teams. At the time, Hamilton was a resurgent former number one pick in recovery from cocaine and crack addiction, Volquez a top prospect but essentially an unknown. The deal has already worked out famously for both clubs. If the season were to end today, it’s possible that Hamilton would take MVP honors in the AL while Volquez would land the NL Cy Young.
Hamilton is sparking Triple Crown talk. That’s sure to sell MLB tickets in Texas. As of June 12, the former first overall pick of the Devil Rays is leading the AL in home runs with 17, leading the AL in RBI with 71 and is just 19 points behind the AL leader in batting average. Not bad for a guy whose career was nearly over before it started.
Volquez has been no slouch either. As of June 12, he’s second in wins behind only Brandon Webb with nine, first in ERA by almost a half of a run with an astonishing 1.56 and first in strikeouts with 96. Volquez began this season under the radar while fellow Reds rookie starter Johnny Cueto got much of the buzz. While Cueto has struggled, Volquez has shined, not allowing more than two runs in any start until June.
As of June 12, Hamilton seems to be running away with the MVP award. He’s an RBI machine, with a lot of the credit going to Ian Kinsler’s stellar season thus far in setting the table for Hamilton. Volquez, on the other hand, has some stiff competition in the NL Cy Young race. Arizona’s Brandon Webb has 11 wins already as of June 12 and Tim Lincecum, the sole bright spot of the Giants’ rough start, looks like a right-handed Sandy Koufax at times and is nipping at the heels of Volquez for the MLB strikeout lead. Phillies ace Cole Hamels is also starting to put together some impressive starts and could be in the Cy Young running if he keeps it up.
Regardless of whether Hamilton and Volquez both claim their respective awards, the offseason deal involving them has worked out phenomenally well for both clubs. MLB Tickets to see rising stars like Hamilton and Volquez are sure to be at a premium for years to come.

Lets spice up the baseball section?
Every night Ill ask 2 questions, maybe ill repeat the same question during the day to see where i get the most answers. Ok here it goes.
1:Historically, what baseball team has the most triple-crown winners? what team is second?
2.If a starter goes 5 innings of not hit ball, and the game gets canceled because of rain does he get the awarded for a no-hitter/perfect game?
1. The Red Sox and Cardinals both had 3 Triple Crown winners (Hornsby and Williams both won it twice). The Yankees and the A’s both had 2 different winners. (I’m only considering the batting triple crown and not the pitching triple crown).
2. At one time it was a no-hitter but sometime in the 90’s they changed the rules so a no-hitter has to be a complete no-hit game of 9 or more innings.
Sports Thursday: Wings Win Cup, and More
It is very easy to get into the habit of pulling off the ball. This is especially true for power hitters. Have you ever seen a power hitter hit a home run and thereafter, he can’t couch the ball? What happened? The home run took him out of himself. So as he pivots, he is also pivoting his head. Read the rest of it here: Click Here
