Most of you can probably name the Major League baseball teams in California, but did you know that the State is tied with Florida for the total number of baseball stadiums? That is correct. Florida has seventeen and California has seventeen. Here, it breaks down like this:

• 5 Professional Teams: 3 National League/2 American League

• 2 Pacific Coast League Teams

• 10 California League Teams: 5 in the North Division/5 in the South

Who cares, is most likely your next question. Football and basketball are more entertaining. Well, I’m here to make the point that baseball, especially below the Major League level, is the one sports outing that is still affordable to the average American family. Not only is it affordable, but it is great fun. The Pacific Coast and California Leagues are both part of the baseball’s Minor Leagues. For simplicity sake, the California League is the lowest level of the minor leagues and the Pacific Coast League is the next step up. For the best outing, I recommend going to a California League game. Here are my 3 main reasons:

First – the cost. The best seat in the house will probably cost you $12. In most cases it is $10 or less. One decent seat in at the Major League level will cost you $30 to $40. Food and beverage are at normal prices: $1 for candy; $2 for a soda or hotdog; $4 for a beer. During many of the games there are promotions where you can bring the family of four and get admission, a soft drink and dog for $25. Where else can you find affordability like that?

Next – entertainment. Everyone likes showmanship, seeing the occasional celebrity, or just having fun. At this level of baseball you get all of that. You will see future hall of fame players. Some will be just starting; others will be past their prime; and you’ll even see current stars down for rehabilitation. Every night they have special events including drawings for money, races around the stadium and special giveaways. Everyone joins in the fun.

Finally – location. These games get you out of the big cities where the atmosphere is truly small town. Check out this list:

San Bernardino 66ers

Yes I am a fan of big league baseball. But, I like it on all levels. For a more pure view of the game and to discover why this was labeled “America’s Pastime,” make plans to get to a California League ballpark this summer. Take the whole gang.

My experience in California spans over 50 years. Since growing up in Los Angeles in the 1950’s, we have explored most parts of California and still do so today. Having lived in most parts of the United States, we have experienced our share of figuring out what to do with an idle Saturday or Sunday. Amusement park? The latest nightclub? Hike, bike or camp? The choices are endless. When you consider the vastness of a State like California, you will understand my passion. Whether it’s the wine country, the beach, or just a local festival let me your guide to a great weekend getaway in California.

Do you guys like baseball? Rancho Cucamonga Quakes are my fav. What’s yours?

I like watching Ryan Brasier get to first base:)

Nah, I’m in the baseball section because I hate it! Just joking, it’s my life.

And my favorite team is actually past class-A : the Red Sox.

It is very easy to get into the habit of pulling off the ball. This is especially true for power hitters. Have you ever seen a power hitter hit a home run and thereafter, he can’t couch the ball? What happened? The home run took him out of himself. So as he pivots, he is also pivoting his head. Read the rest of it here: Click Here
