How do I get a job in MLB?

I have a great knowledge of baseball and I study the game. I aspire to work for the San Francisco Giants one day as a general manager. I live in Fresno California home of the Giants AAA ball club (Grizzlies). I am 19 and am a sophmore in college majoring in sports management. I want to know what I should do to get my foot into the door so that I can work my way into the professional baseball system. Should I get a job with the grizzlies right now? Do my grades matter or will my baseball knowledge be more impotant? Thanks for the help

A GM position for any MLB club will likely require an MBA at the very least. That’s a Masters of Business Administration in case you didn’t know. That means at least a 4-year degree form a good school along with a couple more years of post-grad work to get your Masters degree.

Keep in mind, there are 30 total MLB GM positions. That’s 30 jobs in the entire country. To say that your grades matter would be an understatement. Your aren’t going to get a job with a 2.8 GPA from your local Community College, I can guarantee you that much.
