the payroll for the 2006 team is 35 million, you will be allowed to keep it at 70 million for the next 2 years, what moves would you do to make this team not only contend but have a very good chance at winning the east. ****Note I am not a Devil Rays fan (I’m a Yankees fan) so keep the Red Sox and Yankees rules comments to yourself I already know this is true so I don’t need reminding. I am intrested in hearing what intelligent baseball minds are out there.

You can do ALOT with an extra 35 million a year…. The top tier pitchers make between 8-12 mil/ yr

Ok .. here goes..
First off , I would Trade Lugo to a tam in need of a good short stop .. Toronto, Colorado, Kansas City, Chicago (Cubs), Cleveland.. Lugo, basically, already said he does not want to play for the Devil Rays next year, so he will be a restricted free agent next season, so I would trade him for a much needed pitcher .. Bullpen or starter. which ever is the best offered for him .. And when the trade is made I would then bring BJ Upton up from Durham to play Short-Stop.. And as far as Trading Huff, I wouldnt give him up for just anyone .. i would want a good pitcher out of him .. but i wouldnt trade him now because he still will be under contract at the end of the season .. so i Say , He’ll play for us for the rest of the season to show everyone what he can really do so we dont have to trade him right after a big first half of the season slump .. I’d wait for his trade value to go up. .. Then trade him For a Pitcher or two .. Also maybe throw in one of our outfielders, Gomes, baldelli, Branyan .. NOT Crawford .. And then IF Young is ready i would bring him up to play Right Field( Delmon Young) ……
oh and by the Fasha^^^^ .. the Devil rays do not have enough money for all those high salary guys .. i sure would like that though ..
oh and you wanna know what picthing .. uhh from Jays .. maybe Lilly or Burnett along with a young reliever.. if Rockie-Fogg..Mesa maybe ..Kansas City-Gobble w/ Affeldt ….Cubs-Harmol w/ Rusch .. Indians- Mota, Byrd ………
