Did ESPN jinx some MLB teams a few weeks back?
I don’t believe in jinxes that much, but I thought I would bring this up. On August 31st, I remember watching Baseball Tonight or SportsCenter or something like that and one of the analysts told us who would probably win each division. This is what they said:
AL West: Angels
AL Central: White Sox
AL East: Rays
AL Wild Card: Twins
NL West: Diamondbacks
NL Central: Cubs
NL East: Mets
NL Wild Card: Brewers
Ever since this, the Cubs, Brewers, Diamondbacks, White Sox, Rays, and Twins have gone through tough slumps and not winning that many games. The Mets and Angels have been able to win, though.
So, did ESPN jinx these teams?
Other than the Cubs, none of the other teams that you mentioned as being potentially jinxed are particularly good this year. The D-backs have been anemic all year, whichever team finishes above .500 in the NL West will win that division. The Brew-crew has been overachieving and really CC and Ben Sheets are their only hope. Both the Rays and Brewers are young and relatively inexperienced when it comes to pressure filled September’s. I’ve got nothing for you on the AL Central, I guess you could be right there.

It is very easy to get into the habit of pulling off the ball. This is especially true for power hitters. Have you ever seen a power hitter hit a home run and thereafter, he can’t couch the ball? What happened? The home run took him out of himself. So as he pivots, he is also pivoting his head. Read the rest of it here: Click Here
